After releasing his debut EP Falling Star in 2013, Irish soul-slammer Samuel is back with ‘Killr’ from his forthcoming EP via Ninja Tune. Whilst his Frank Ocean/Maverick Sabre/The Weeknd inspired easing tones wind their way through the lead track, in true Samuel fashion, the production is tightly constrained by loud, brash hits of rhythm. Whilst remaining intimate but portraying distance all at the same time, ‘Killr’ is an exciting peek at what Samuel has to offer with brand new material. -JE
